Sumac Marinated Onions

Equipment

  • 1 Medium bowl

Mise en place

  • 1 red onion halved, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sumac
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp salt

Optional ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Aleppo pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp mint chopped

Method

  • Combine all ingredients in bowl. Stir to combine. Marinate one hour in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

Onions will keep in a tightly sealed jar for up to a week.
